Home Page : About Air America About Air America What you see and hear may not always be the truth. There is a difference between perceived experience and true reality. Most people tend to believe what they see and hear from the media. Is it really the truth? Sadly it is not! If you watched ABC's "Last Chopper Out" almost every picture of a flying helicopter was Air America. Yet, not one mention was made of that fact. The famous picture on top of the building in downtown Saigon with refugees streaming up the staircase to the helicopter was Air America. Most remember the picture, but very few realize who it was. In Laos, most of the flights were those of Air America. In Webster's dictionary "History" is described as, "A past that is full of important, unusual, or interesting events. It includes acts, ideas, or events that will or can shape the course of the future." The actions of Air America and its 10,000 employees were certainly part of history in Asia. Yet to some historians and writers Air America was unseen, or has been maligned by untrue stories and innuendoes! This page attempts to truthfully reflect the place of Air
America in the history of the war in South East Asia. Especially for those
who were not a part of that history. The information provided here is given
by those qualified to offer an opinion. |
