Vietnam today is a country still suffering from the effects of a war fought over a quarter century ago. A lack of basic health care knowledge in rural areas causes many to suffer and die of preventable diseases. Aggressive steps have been taken to begin to educate the Vietnamese people about the dangers of poor health habits and provide health care facilities for the poor.
Upon discovering the need for preventative health care information and facilities for its citizens, government health officials in Danang City approached Vets With A Mission. They asked VWAM to help establish a series of health clinics in the rural areas and in the city of Danang itself. To date VWAM has built twenty –five rural and city health clinics in Vietnam with sixteen of these facilities being in Quang Nam Province, Danang Province, and Danang City.
These rural health care stations and medical clinics in the cities will establish VWAM's long term commitment to providing health care and the building of medical health care clinics for the people of Vietnam.
