Warren Gustafson learned flying from his uncle, Emil Gustafson; a pioneer aviator from Illinois.  After retiring as a Major from the U.S. Marine Corps, Warren Gustafson became a pilot for Air America, primarily of fixed wing aircraft, flying in South Vietnam from 1966 to 1971.  He later was employed by Sudan Air Taxi of Kartoum, Sudan from November to December 1977.  From September 1980 to February 1981 he flew out of McAllen, Texas.
